Alternative Real Estate is a boutique asset manager and authorized financial services provider that specializes in providing advice on investments into Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Real Estate Operating Companies (REOCs) and other forms of listed property. Alternative Real Estate specializes in the structuring of real estate investment and lending products. It was formed to cater for the discerning investor who seeks tailored investments in listed property.

Hayden Bamford

B.COM, B.COM (Hons), CA (SA)

Hayden Bamford, founder and Managing Director of Alternative Real Estate Capital Management, is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having completed his articles at Deloitte & Touché. He worked at Standard Bank Real Estate Finance and subsequently at the Royal Bank of Canada (London) as a VP of Structured Finance & Debt Securitisation. Thereafter he undertook the role of Managing Director of Property Index Trackers Managers where he established a niche listed property fund division for a Listed Property Group.

Nicola Mc Namara

B.COM (UNISA)

Nicola has a well-established background in the financial services industry, having worked in the retail banking environment for 10+ years. She completed her B Com degree in Financial Management part time while gaining valuable working experience. Nicola facilitates all administrative, operational and compliance functions. She is instrumental in client services and offers comprehensive support to the team.

Tamsin Bamford

B.COM, B.COM (Hons)

Tamsin is an experienced Information Technology professional. She started her career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) implementing SAP systems for AECI and Anglo American Platinum and subsequently worked in the UK for the Pearson Group and Shell implementing and supporting their SAP systems. Her background in Information Technology in combination with her B.Com (Hons) degree in Finance and Investment ensures she is well placed to provide support to both the investment and operational aspects of the business.
